Right now I use my sisters conair hair straightener.
I've heard that conair has really bad hair straighteners though.
So I'm looking for another one. I don't want a really expensive one. All the ones people usually recommend are like 80+ dollars.
Right now I have medium length hair, but I'm growing it pretty long.
I want one that works well on both short and long hair.
Also it would be nice if it was one that works well for curling hair too.
btw, what's the difference between the really expensive ones, and the cheap ones?
Also, is the maxiglide any good?

I have a Chi, which happen to be extremly expensive so even though it works really well i think you should keep your conair.
Keep your conair but MAKE SURE YOU USE HEAT PROTECTANT! that is what keeps a straitener from hurting your hair. Just twist your flat iron while straitening and wala, curls

i got my straitener for 19 $ and its a salon quality straitener, it was on sale because there was new stuff.. when i took the 19$ price tag off underneath there was a 120$ tag on it.. i got a hell of deal if you look around you can find something really good...
the only difference between the expensive ones and cheap ones is the temperature it can go to, like salon ones normally go to 180 or so while cheap ones go up to 20 on average.. but honestly even with extremly curly hair i wouldnt go above 80 cause that would be so damaging..
i have a revlon one. I got it for only like 30 dollars and it works great for meee!!!! :) The cheap ones work on your hair but the expensive ones are supposed to be healthier for your hair. My friend has a remmington one and its aweome!!!!!!!! She told me it was 65 dollars! :) and sorry lol ive never heard about the maxiglide

Very Cheap Hair Straightener?
I got a straightener a while back, like 2 or 3 years ago. It's crappy, and it had previous owners,[My aunts best friend probably had it for a while.] She gave it to me, and it was sufficient. But the other day, it broke. It wouldn't heat up. So, I asked my parents to get me a new one, they basically told me to suck it up and put my hair in a ponytail. That doesn't really work when you pay for a 50 dollar haircut with bangs, and you can style your hair. So, I need a hair straightener that is cheap, and I can use for all types of hair. It doesn't even need to get that hot, because it's mostly for my bangs. It can be a mini one too. Please help! [Cheap btw, means like 20 bucks for me]Very Cheap Hair Straightener?
Save up and get like 10 dollars more, to get remington wet to straight. It's in alot of drug stores, target, or wal mart. It gets really hot but it also has lower settings for thinner hair. But if you're in a REAL hurry in the morning you can straighten ur hair when it's wet.
And like, I used to have ceramic straighteners, but I would break them all the time cause my hair was SLIGHTLY wet. Maybe it's the same for you. Your hair was slightly damp and it messed it up?
I really suggest this straightener because it gets really hot, straightens hair nicely, affordable price, and i've had it forever.

It is a site where people can list things they need, or want to get rid of, and people in your area can see the posts. If you posted that you were in search of a hair straightener, someone may have one that you can have. Also wal mart may have some cheap ones under 20 dollars, but they arent gonna be ceramic or anything. ebay may also be a good place to look, but even if you do find one on there, you wont get it for at least a few days, but finding a nice one for 20 dollars may be easier that way.I would suggest trying to use a blow dryer or a curling iron to keep your bangs under control until you can acquire a new straigterner, and if that doesnt work, maybe play with your hair a bit and see if you can come up with a cute way to pin them up or sweep them to the side or something.

Good cheap hair straightener?
I really despise my thick wavy hair. I've tried layering it, like really razor-layering it to thin and feather it out, but since it's wavy after I showered and it dried it looked terrible! I've been letting it grow since then but I would kill to get rid of this mess of hair. My cheap 10 dollar hair straightener is utter crap. What hair straighteners for 30-25 dollars or under will actually work on thick wavy hair?

There isn't a straight iron on Earth that won't damage your hair. It has to get nice and hot to work, and that is something hair just can't stand up to. I use a Conair. You can tell it's quality by lifting it up. If it feels like a hunk of plastic it is probably junk. If it is top heavy it means the ceramic is probably good quality.
i have comair 3/4 inch straightener and it works good. it was like $15.00 and the 1 inch is like $20.00. i hope i helped!

I dont think its all about the straightener, I also think its how you straighten your hair. CHI is awesome too but expensive. You dont have to go get that unless you dont mind blowing $100-$150 on one.

Absolutely! Walmart has a large selection of hair straighteners for between $10-$20. Just make sure that you buy a ceramic, not a metal, because the metal is harder on your hair and it will burn more easily. Ceramic is much better. Hope this helps!

Right now I have a Conair one, that I bought for like 20 bucks %26amp; it straightens my hair for about 20 minutes and then my hair starts flipping out again. I've tried straightening products that dont work.
My hair is pretty straight, it just flips out on the ends %26amp; it can get kinda poofyish, and I just straighten it to make it nice and sleek.

SO that would be my best advice t you and ask around and then go to the store and see what they have and do your hw on the ones that caught your eye. it will be money well saved and spent since you wont be paying full price!

I don't think any hair straightener, no matter how good, won't damage your hair. For it to work well, it has to be on a very high temperature. The only way to avoid is not use one! But of course, that isn't practical, so you should get a good one which heats up quickly and will straighten your hair in minutes such as GHD or one I got called Corioliss, but they'll be about 拢80. beleive it or not,my friend got a perm last year and it was horrible so i went to boots and bought a perm kit and put the lotion on but instead of putting curlers in her hair,i just combed it straight for about half an hour. i basically followed the instructions on how to perm it but combed it straight and she now has poker straight hair and dosent even need to use straightners.
tesco have their own branded ceramic straighteners at a bargain 拢10 , absolutely fantastic, heat v quick, minimise frizziness and straighten brilliantly. hope this helps :)

Go to JC Penny Hair Salon and ask them about a conditioner (it's a spray) that you spray on your hair before straightening it, it's suppose to help prevent burning/damaging of the hair, and it smells really good, I just got some but I forgot the name of it, it's in an orange bottle $14, sorry couldn't help you anymore than that. My friend uses some kind of mouse/gel like stuff, it does the same as my spray does but it's by Paul Mitchell and you can buy it at Rite Aid for $16. Try this, maybe it'll help!!!!

ommggg dont get a cheap one! it made my hair fall out, if u want great results and very healthy hait try the T3 straigtener its expensive..but its amazing, it costs 190 dollars but u can probley get it off ebay for a cheaper price.. its amazing it doesnt damage hair at all, it used to take me 20-25 minutes to straighten my hair but since i got the T3 it only takes me 5 -7 minutes now ITS AMAZING and i have extremley curly hair

I like Vidal Sasson Ceramic Straightener. I think it cost me $20. My hair is naturally pretty straight though. My friend who has really curly hair used it and it worked pretty good on her hair.
Use a really good straightening balm too, and that should help. I like Bed Head Control Freak Serum. It was $13 at a salon, but its lasted me for months. I've had the same bottle for about 6 months now.

I got mine at a salon and it was $140.00 however I've had it for 3 years now and it has a lifetime warranty where if it stops working I can bring it back and get a new one free as long as I keep the box for it (which I did). I haven't had any issues with it and it works really good.
I have a Remington Wet2Style. Its about 15-20 dollars. Works just as well as a 70 dollar straightener. You can get them alot of places. You can buy cheap ones at Walmart and some drugstores. My hair is kind of wavy/curly and very, VERY thick, so it should work pretty well for you.

i forget the brand name it starts with an 'A' it is NOT revlon, vidal sasoon or conair, they make cheap project plus i find that they don't reach a degree in which is useful in straightening hair.
Before I bought the ultimate straightener, the Pink edition GHD for about $300, I used the Chi, it cost about $120 and does a great job. Before that I used the hot tools, that also is good but does dry your hair a bit, that goes for about $40.

Try Rusk Str8. Its an anti-frizz/anti-curl lotion for your hair and it works great for me. I have hair down to my lower back and if i dont hairdry straight it gets a lil wavy. When i use this product, it is straight, and shiny x) Good luck x) It smells great too!

They only cost about 30 dollars, and it's works just like a Chi. I don't see why wasting 120 dollars + more on a Chi anyways. The only negative thing about this straightener, is that it isn't available everywhere. I got mine in Winners, in Canada. They have little boutique shops in some malls, that sell them for over 100 dollars. BTW, I live in Vancouver, so I'm not sure where you can get it :S. Good luck !

Try a house hold iron and ironing board. Have a friend iron your hair. Tell him not to let the iron sit to long in one spot because that can suck.
Conair is pretting good. There is a cheap one at Walmart for 20, and it still works pretty good.

I have a Remington Wet2Style. Its about 15-20 dollars. Works just as well as a 70 dollar straightener. You can get them alot of places. You can buy cheap ones at Walmart and some drugstores. My hair is kind of wavy/curly and very, VERY thick, so it should work pretty well for you.
chyeah, i use a $16 one from walmart, it goes up to 400 F or something.
i forget the brand name it starts with an 'A' it is NOT revlon, vidal sasoon or conair, they make cheap project plus i find that they don't reach a degree in which is useful in straightening hair.
Before I bought the ultimate straightener, the Pink edition GHD for about $300, I used the Chi, it cost about $120 and does a great job. Before that I used the hot tools, that also is good but does dry your hair a bit, that goes for about $40.
Well not quite cheap but for th reviews it has. I guess is the best there is SEDU is the Top-Rated Hair Straightener. I just bough one yesterday I am also a guy but I want to change the style on my hair it cost me $116.00 so its not cheap but I read it was the best.
Try Rusk Str8. Its an anti-frizz/anti-curl lotion for your hair and it works great for me. I have hair down to my lower back and if i dont hairdry straight it gets a lil wavy. When i use this product, it is straight, and shiny x) Good luck x) It smells great too!
I know whatcha mean, haha although I'm a girl, I have a bit of wavy hair at the ends, and I tried Vidal Sassoon Answers. It sucks. Sorry to people who think it's good, but maybe it's just me. %26gt;%26lt;. I bought another straightener called Cortex. I got them at Winners! They only cost about 30 dollars, and it's works just like a Chi. I don't see why wasting 120 dollars + more on a Chi anyways. The only negative thing about this straightener, is that it isn't available everywhere. I got mine in Winners, in Canada. They have little boutique shops in some malls, that sell them for over 100 dollars. BTW, I live in Vancouver, so I'm not sure where you can get it :S. Good luck !

Try a house hold iron and ironing board. Have a friend iron your hair. Tell him not to let the iron sit to long in one spot because that can suck.
Conair is pretting good. There is a cheap one at Walmart for 20, and it still works pretty good.
buy anything that's ceramic
Just buy anything that's ceramic and you'll be in good shape.
